Ainvayi Ainvayi--The Many Faces of Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh

Living in the Middle of Nowhere, Tennessee (for.the.moment.) means that I will never get to see Band Baaja Baaraat in a theater.  The closest I've gotten to Bollywood on the big screen was a ticket I had to an early morning showing (who does that?) of Anjaana Anjaani.  Not being at my movie-going best at 8am (never mind that it was an hour long drive just to get to the theater), I gave it a pass.  From what I hear I didn't miss much.

So. Back on topic.  Though I can't see the film in theaters, I can watch the video for Ainvayi Ainvayi obsessively.  (Obsessively = 50ish times per day.  All those views the video's racking up on YouTube?  Yeah, that's me.)

Ainvayi Ainvayi is adorable.  And pulsating.  And exciting.  And eminently danceable.  But what I love most about it are those little moments sprinkled throughout the video that just make me smile--Ranveer's little head wiggle at "Hi-Fi" and Anushka's expression the first time she gets the "ainvayi ainvayi ainvayi ainvayi lut gaya" line.

In fact, I love Anushka's expressions everywhere in this song, so I figured I'd capture a few of them and share.

Put it all together and what do you get?

Ainvayi Ainvayi, my song of the day.  :)

Oh I loved thease pictures! Anushka was too good in YRF's BBB! N the new guy is damn atalented!WE all should thank YRF! Thanks for making all those timeless classic films...the films reach across generations as well as cultures... I know it's going to be a great film when I see the YRF mark.. Great plot, great cast, and always great music :D

I totally agree! I'm really looking forward to seeing more films from both of them in the future, and I hope YRF continues to use Ranveer--he's a total sweetheart and as you said, very talented.

I'm in the same boat as you - it's very very rare that I get to seen anything on the big screen (and when I do it involves finding and persuading someone to drive me 2 hours to the capital!) I can't WAIT to see BBB, which didn't come to the cinema here :( It looks SO cute!

@Ness--you're in New Zealand right? I thought of you the other day when I was watching I Hate Luv Storys--such a pretty place!

I'm hoping to make a move to London or India in the next year or two, and I'm not gonna lie, the prospect of being able to see any film I want any time I want, without taking ten buses or driving to cities eight hours out of my way is one of the prime reasons for doing so. Where I live now sucks--there are no indie theaters, let alone theaters that play foreign films, and to add insult to injury the only Indian restaurant in a 50 mile radius closed this year. Grrr.

I'd also like to live somewhere more "cultural" = a place a little closer to the Bollywood culture. For watching a movie in the theater, I have to drive at least 2 hours... Not thaaat much, but still... The only movie I saw on the big screen was MNIK.
But, however, we can always buy BBB on DVD. :)

I say we all just move to Mumbai. I think there's a movie theater or two there... ;)

I love that we are all in the same boat together! I will have to wait for this too, on dvd, but I can't wait. I've liked Anushka ever since RNBDJ - she has great promise! And Ranvir is pretty darn easy on the eyes to boot!

Shell--

Just between you, me, and the rest of the internet, there's a screening copy of BBB floating around online--I hear it's only partially subtitled though. I'm impatient and tempted to download it but I really want to wait and buy my own (good) copy when it comes out.
